My Story

I have been a Peer Researcher with Race Alliance Wales conducting research into the topic of Racism within the Welsh Education system, furthering my understanding of the issues affecting BAME young people in Wales.   I sit on various boards and forums including as a trustee for WCIA, trustee with Youth Cymru and a Peace First Ambassador, as well as being part of youth boards for an innovative community centre called the Grange Pavilion and at the National Theatre Wales.

I am originally from Sri Lanka, moving to Cardiff at the age of 8 with my mother and 2 older siblings and making Cardiff and Wales our home. This is why I joined NEL as a Legal Fellow, to use the platform to build power within communities through raising awareness of how they can use the law to leverage social change and look to make a difference wherever possible.
